BartonPlace – ATX

Granite counters, stainless steel appliances, big windows, Italian, well anything Italian – all buzzwords in the luxury condominium glossary. It’s a tad odd that the descriptive language of the single most expensive thing the reader is likely to own, all too often, sounds as exciting as a soup can label. And occupying some of them feels like the inside of the soup can itself. But wait, before you swear off soup, remember, there’s processed, condensed cream of sawdust and there’s also your grandmother’s chicken soup. BartonPlace in Austin is your …

The Brazos Place Condos

Located in the center of downtown Austin on 8th Street and Brazos are the amazing Brazos Place Condos. Originally built as a hotel in 1948 by world renound designer Hugo Franz Keuhne, founder of the University of Texas’s school of Architecture. It’s old school roots give the Branzos Place Condos a traditional feel while remaining very sleek and modern

Once it was converted into commercial condominiums the Brazos became one of Austins premier condo complexes. It has roomy one and two bedroom units that range from 600 to 1500 square feet.  It includes such amenities …

Brazos Lofts: Brick and Brilliance

Brazos Lofts greets you with what I like to call, Brick and Brilliance. At night, it brings back to life the early years of the 20th Century with dyed amber lighting offering a sensational feel. The exterior boasts a masculine surface while still coming off as an inviting place. It is no wonder these lofts seem so rare in comparison with other downtown Austin lofts.
Some consider Brazos Lofts the only ‘real’ warehouse lofts in Austin. Well I can say that judging from both the inside and outside, it feels that …

Plan resumes to build massive Marriott

Plans to build Austin’s largest downtown hotel are apparently back on the table, according to reports.
White Lodging Corp. said last year it would shelve plans for a 1,000-room, $185-million Marriott hotel on Congress Avenue and Second Street. But an Austin American-Statesman report quoted officials saying construction will begin in about nine months.
The story also said the city could waive $4.3 million in fees for the project. That’s a pretty big chunk of change. A city spokesman confirmed the possible agreement, but not the amount. The council is expected to finish …

Despite a housing crunch that continues to take its toll on housing prices throughout the country, there are many places where real estate is still an excellent long-term investment. When investing in real estate, the key to success is hiring the right real estate team to assist you in identifying and purchasing the right property in the right area.
One of the best places to invest in real estate property is in Austin, Texas. Austin has experienced incredible job growth and very stable home prices despite the nationwide economic downturn. In …

The Milago meshes luxury with peace-of-mind

If you want to live close to all that downtown Austin has to offer and you don’t want to give up on the idea of having some peace and quiet, consider the Milago.
At other downtown condos, you’re always reminded you’re in the urban jungle: the concrete, the construction, the streetlights, the garbage trucks, music from the bars, even the grackles at night that require you to cover your head on a short walk. No worries like that at the Milago.
The price per square foot and HOA dues are very reasonable. …

I’d keep off the grass if there were any.

With dozens upon dozens of days without a drop of precipitation or respite from 100+ degree oppression, Austin is hot. Lovers of nightlife, motorcycles, music, movies, art, gaming, county’s best bbq and sushi, public schools, highways, bikepaths, pet freindly policies… you get it, Austin is popular (hot and popular being interchangeable American slang… wordplay is more fun when it doesn’t have to be explained). But these days it’s just hot. No euphemisms, no winks, just sweating like an Olympic weightlifter on a lift he didn’t make.
While there were firework bans …
